German Language & Culture Foundation awards $60,000 in Scholarships to 30 UNCC Students
Some more good news just before the Easter recess.
A couple of weeks ago the German Language & Culture Foundation awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 30 students attending UNC Charlotte and majoring, amongst others, in the German language. These happy students are depicted with some of our Board Members on the attached photo and you can detect the joy and pleasure on their faces in anticipation of their 4 week visit to Germany where they will be studying in a home hosted environment 6 hours of German language daily at a Goethe Institute in a city of their choice. Allow me also to point out that these bright and energetic students are looking for internships in companies where they can practice their German language skills, and if you are interested in considering in providing an internship to one of these intelligent men or women, please contact Prof. Anabel Buchenau directly at 704-687-8765 or aaliagab@uncc.com. A growing number, most especially companies with subsidiaries from German speaking Europe in the Charlotte region have found it helpful and useful to place these students as interns in their company, and many of them have hired them upon graduation. Please also forward this email to your HR department where appropriate.
It is also clear that this year we will provide more scholarships than ever before and we should break the $80,000 ceiling in scholarships awarded before this year comes to an end..
None of this would be possible without your continuing and stead fast support for which I thank you on behalf of 30 UNC Charlotte students.
I also wish you a happy Easter recess and remain with gratitude and best wishes.
Kurt
