Regina Waldthausen

As the President and on behalf of the Board of the German and Language and Culture Foundation, I regret to inform you, that our Founding Member and Director, Mrs. Regina Waldthausen, passed away on March 29, 2014, peacefully in her home after a battle with cancer.

Regina gave herself generously to many non-profit organizations, including the German Saturday School, International House and also to our German Language and Culture Foundation. She invested countless hours especially in organizing our Annual Fundraising Event, the Jazz in the Village Festival. Most of you will well remember her during the 2013 Festival, when she was orchestrating our volunteers and made sure that all of us felt welcomed and being in good hands.

Her final resting place will be in Bremen, Germany. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Waldthausen family, especially with her husband, Kurt Waldthausen, our Chairman, and her two daughters, Veronica and Vicki.
